It is that time again to make bold predictions as 2012 is right around the corner! So let's just get right into it!
1. Barack Obama will be reelected as President of the United States.
2. Mitt Romney will be the GOP candidate.
3. The United States economy will see improvement each quarter in 2012 (which bodes well for the Obama prediction).
4. The turnaround story for 2012 is Housing.
5. Republicans will gain seats in the Senate and the House.
6. The Stock Market (all three indexes DOW, S&P and NASDAQ) will see double digit gains.
7. Congress will continue to look like idiots being in gridlock on every issue.
8. Mortgage rates will remain low but will finally start to trend up the second half of the year.
9. The Green Bay Packers lose in the Super Bowl to whoever they play in the AFC.
10. The 76ers lose in the first round of the playoffs again.
11. The Philadelphia Phillies win another World Series.
12. Carl Greene ends up in jail for solicitation.
13. The Occupy movement is quickly forgotten (no more mic-checks!)
14. Philadelphia real estate heats up locally, especially fringe areas as the first time home-buyer drives the market.
15. REMAX Access continues to take market share from its competitors in Philadelphia.
What are your predictions?

We Like it on Top: Top Realtors in Philadelphia AND Pennsylvania
We were pretty much blown away when the award and letter came in the mail. We earnd the place of #2 RE/MAX Real
Estate Team in all of Pennsylvania and #1 Team in Philadelphia.
Stephanie and I are not one to keep track of numbers throughout the year but apparently 2010 was an extremely successful year for us and for our team. In a year where the media talked about doom and gloom, The Somers team kept extremely busy working with buyers and sellers.
Our eyes were on our client's goals and not on the media's negative reporting. The first time home-buyer tax-credit (of which we were quoted nationally on several Associated Press articles) was certainly a contributor to a very successful year.
But outside of that, we worked tirelessly and are very proud of our team members Sean Conroy, Sean Dundon and Elaine Kasavage.
Combined there was over $30 million in sales ! And who says the Philadelphia real estate market is slow ?
As for this year, well let's just say we are already having an amazing first quarter!
So, you may ask what does all of that mean; #2 in Pennsylvania and #1 in Philadelphia ? To us this award provides us with evidence of our skill and professionalism and it reminds us that we have many people to thank. We would like to thank our clients, the buyers and sellers that we proudly represented through each and every individual real estate transaction. Also, it made us (Chris and Stephanie Somers founders of The Somers Team) realize that we want to give back. Therefore, we will be contributing a percentage of our commissions to the neighborhoods in which we are selling homes. We are so excited about this and hope others will follow in our footsteps.
An example of this was our recent blog post "Giving Back to the NLNA". As of this week, we will have donated over $1,000 back to the Northern Liberties Neighborhood Association as individual Realtors.
