Hyperion Bank Shares a Toy Story

See all of those toys? They'll be igniting smiles on the faces of many children this holiday season. Hyperion Bank and the 26th Police District are at it again. Last month, their Holiday Food Drive made Thanksgiving dinner possible for several local families. Well, they didn't forget about Christmas presents.  The Northern Liberties bank's employees did some shopping this year and purchased a variety  of toys in conjunction with Community Relations Officer P/O Annamae Law.

“We are the area’s community bank.  It’s important to the people who work here to get involved.  We may not all live locally but we work here every day.  It’s our neighborhood too and we care about those in need who are in our own backyard," said Joe Matisoff, Hyperion Bank President & CEO.

“It’s wonderful to see a local business work so hard to weave themselves into the fabric of our community.  And the folks at Hyperion Bank have really been helping us to make a difference here in our neighborhood," stated Officer Law.

We love hearing local stories such as this one, where we are reminded that a small act of generosity can have a big impact on a child. Do you have a holiday story to share?

Hyperion Bank Holiday Food Drive Helps Raise Money for Local Families

Hyperion Bank in Northern Liberties, along with several local businesses in the community, helped support the 26th Police District in their Holiday Food Drive this year.  They raised $880.00 that will go towards feeding families and senior citizens in need of a Thanksgiving turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

We'd like to thank Hyperion and all of the generous contributors involved in these efforts, including the Kensington South Neighborhood Advisory Council (KSNAC), Girard Business and Arts Assocation (GBAA) and the Northern Liberties Business Owners Association (NLBOA).  Hyperion matched their own employees' contributions dollar for dollar. They also collected non-perishable food items.

Thank you and we wish everyone a wonderful holiday!

Love on Girard: Get Sweet on Local Shops

Now that Romancing the Walk and other Northern Liberties specials are in full swing, we'd like to point out that Girard Avenue is also vying for your Valentine-time attention.

Love on Girard is coming on strong this week with the independent businesses and neighborhood anchors that line West Girard from Frankford Avenue to Franklin Street. So if you're still in need of gifts or beauty treatments, you'll find plenty of options here. Members of Hyperion Bank should enter the drawing to win a $50 gift certificate for nearby restaurants. Quince Fine Foods will include a handmade card with an order of chocolates. It's a Cupcake has recently moved its shop to Girard Avenue and will celebrate its grand reopening today. Enjoy 10% off a dozen and take them in for your coworkers. Our favorite? At Bonnie & Clyde Tattoo, if you purchase one tattoo, your partner's tat will be half price. That sure beats a dozen red stems.
