Best Pie in Philly Contest at Piranha Betty’s Art Market
Do you make a mean meringue pie? Piranha Betty's Art Market on the Frankford Arts Corridor in Fishtown is hosting a pie contest at their First Friday reception. The Black Dog Runs at Night is a Twin Peaks-Inspired art show featuring 2D/3D exhibits from over 20 artists. All are encouraged to dress up like Twin Peaks characters.
To submit a pie, email piranhabettys@gmail.com. Then drop off your pie entry by 5pm on Friday, April 2nd. Contestants so far include Murph's Bar, and we already know they've got a record of deliciousness. Visit the Best Pie in Philly Facebook event page for further information.

What’s up with…Kensington
Kensington is a northern neighborhood past Northern Liberties and northwest of Fishtown. The formerly industrial area is next to the Market-Frankford line.

What’s up with…Fishtown
Fishtown is a northern residential neighborhood next to the Delaware River. The river ward has changed dramatically in recent years with its proximity to Northern Liberties and has drawn many students and artists to its small, triangular territory of rowhomes. The Market-Frankford line borders the neighborhoood on one side, with the river bounding it on the other side. Penn Treaty Park is one of the largest community spaces here. Johnny Brendas is a popular bar and music venue that is notable throughout the country. Girard Avenue has experienced strong growth in local businesses and dining establishments.
