North Shore Beach Club Revving up in 2012
One walk into the North Shore Beach Club and you can feel a different vibe and greater energy than the prior year of Arrow Swim Club. Congrats to Brian Nagele for creating a much better experience for half the price! The staff and the service are extremely friendly and competent, the music fits the scene creating a smooth beach atmosphere, and the layout of the beach chairs and amenities provides a flow for the club that simply fits.
The drink menu is exquisite as well is the menu from the Cuban-inspired theme restaurant Havana Room. If you have not had a chance to check it out yet, you are missing out as the North Shore Beach Club provides a blissful sanctuary and escape from the daily grind.

To Do: Lag Baomer Bonfire & Music Festival
What is Lag Ba’Omer, you ask? Lag Ba'Omer is a festive day on the Jewish calendar, celebrating the anniversary of the passing of the great sage and mystic Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, author of the Zohar. It also commemorates another event. In the weeks between Passover and Shavuot, a plague raged amongst the disciples of the great sage Rabbi Akiva. On Lag BaOmer the dying ceased.
Here in Philadelphia, you can celebrate at the Jewish Center of Northern Liberties with a Bonfire and Music Festival THIS Thursday, May 10th.

Meet Your Neighbor: Sculpere in Northern Liberties
Being a huge supporter of local businesses, I decided to take a few yoga classes at Cristina Espaillat's Sculpere Studio, an intimate space on North 2nd St and Poplar Streets in Northern Liberties. I have to say after the first om...I was hooked.
I love the pace of both the yoga (Cristina teaches Vinyasa, which means flow) and the Sculpere classes for my fitness level. Guys might not dig the Sculpere classes because there is a lot of ballet moves but even my better half Chris is really into Cristina's yoga sessions. He likes all of the warrior poses. Ha, ha. Such a guy!
