What the Piazza Needs Now: Capogiro Gelato

What could make a leisurely stroll through the Piazza even more refreshing? How about a scoop or two of Stracciatella? Agreed. The sign for the new storefront of Nana Petrillo's (unit 26, in between Euphoria and Apollinare) is advertising gelato straight from Philly's Italian ice cream artisans, Capogiro. If any neighborhood is in need of a cold, smooth Italian dessert in flavors like sea salt or avocado, it's Northern Liberties. This is a neighborhood made for outdoor gelato enjoyment.

So what is Nana Petrillo's? The Italian dessert cafe will serve coffee from local brewers Cafe Excellence and South Philly pastries in addition to the 16-24 flavors of gelato, with outside seating.
