Pier 53 Park Aims for August

Delaware River WaterfrontLast night's meeting regarding Pier 53 - a riverfront development at the end of Washington Avenue - welcomed citizen input on the public space that is set for an August opening. Since the site was determined to be a shallow wetlands habitat, PennPraxis and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society are hoping to transform it into a place for ecological learning along the riverfront. Ideas include adding meadows and installing educational signs, using public art in the design. More information on the park can be found at the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation.

We're excited to see just what else is in the works for this riverfront of ours and will keep you posted.
